So this week was rough. Definitely the roughest week of the mission. Now I have had times where I don't want to work and be lazy, but this week was killer because of just the opposite. Elder Egbert and I worked so hard this week and were way excited for the wonderful family we found last week. But holy cow we got all zeros. I am so ashamed to say it, but for some odd reason I feel content, which shouldn't be the feeling I feel when we did not have one lesson with an investigator and not even a referral. It's God's will, and we shall not go through trials in "shoulder-shrugging acceptance, but, instead, shoulder-squaring to better bear the yoke" as Elder Maxwell put it.
Well, to really get started, it really just started off rough. We went on Wednesday with a sister in the branch and her son, Sister Cole and Ian, to go visit Alvire and her family which we had a huge lesson planned and we were so excited to teach! Last lesson was cancelled because Alvire's cousin went to jail and she had to sort it all out. So we show up, but she wasn't there. She had some kind of stomach pains and went to the hospital, which is very sad, especially when she is only six months pregnant. And the hospital is 45 minute drive out of our area so we couldn't visit until Sunday.
Fast forward to Friday, cause Weekly Planning days aren't fun at all. I went out on exchanges with Elder Wright. So the two of us went to find a recent convert who moved from Ipoh, none other than Brother Loki!!!!!!!!! :D we found him in Cheras, not in our area but had zone leader approval, and it took alll dayy to go find. But we got there and wow, he was SO HAPPY to see us! He is just the best, totally worth going and so much fun being able to see him one last time cause he is moving back to Nigeria at the end of the month.

Saturday was not a good day, really trying on faith, but the power of prayer and that sweet talkin of the Holy Ghost helped immensely. Plus, Elder Egbert is just the best elder ever and helped us get our minds on right. Sunday was branch conference and the branch president just loaded the branch down with member missionary work, what a champ!!!!!! President Tolman for the win!
We got Brother Slade, the most hilarious Brit, to drive us down to Cheras, took 45 minutes, and visit Alvire and her family. It was such a treat to be with Brother Slade that long, he is just the best guy. When we got there, it changed the atmosphere of it all. So Alvire, for some background, has been going through some hard times. Her husband passed away and she is 6 months pregnant. Her oldest son, Jabneel who is such a boss, has the exams of his life and the mother is stressing because she wants him out of Malaysia and in an American school. On top of that, her parents don't want them in the house anymore and she was preparing to move out. She had stomach problems and was rushed to the hospital. She has very high blood pressure and because of it, cannot keep the baby. So weighing approximately 1 pound 3 ounces at the moment, she will have a C Section (hope that's spelled right) later this week to get the baby out and will probably not survive. Broke my heart, it truly did. And her sons have not gone to school for a week now to take care of her and they are all alone in the house taking care of their younger sister. What a nightmare, and her faith is still strong as ever. We gave her a blessing and went home, we hope to do some service for her but she moved out of the area as well so we don't know how to pass her off to the other Elders in Subang Jaya, or if it would even be a good idea to do so. We're just gonna try our best and keep praying. I ask please for all of your prayers as well, she needs every last one.and before I forget....
I Love You!!!!!!!
