Kuala Lumpur is amazing!!!!!
So it was a crazy week this week!!!!!!
Monday we couldn't go to the
Petronas Towers, so we'll do that and the
Batu Caves another time, so we just went to Bro. Ravi's house instead. Bro. Ravi is the coolest guy around, the nicest guy too. His son is about 16, Yash, and is such a hipster but in the coolest way possible. We sat around with him and his friends before they went to a soccer game. They were telling me that soccer is pretty big here and there are a bunch of teams in the area, but unfortunately there is a lot of racism, so they go to the underground games as they call it where more of the Indians and Chinese are able to play. Its a whole different world here...... but Bro. Ravi's mother was dying so I was asked to give her a blessing. Giving somebody a dying blessing is one of the hardest things I have done and it was really saddening as she was just coughing and could barely breathe while giving the blessing. So sad, but Bro. Ravi gave me a huge hug and thanked me so much after that, he is the best. It takes about an hour train and LRT ride to get to their house and back (and that isn't even the top of our area) so we got home around
10:30. But as we were heading home, we saw one of the investigators on the train station!!!! We weren't able to get in contact with him till then, but what a miracle we were able too, we talk all the time and have had two lessons with him since!!! He is from Botswana and the coolest guy.
Tuesday we went to downtown KL for zone meeting and got to meet everyone. We then had a lesson with Frank and had a lesson with Melvin, who is on date right now. Melvin is another Tamil who is the most humblest guys around, I love him so much. He used to be a kingpin drug guy in KL but doesn't look like it at all. He now moves all the time to get away from that life and is a barber. So humble.
Wednesday we had a lesson with Wai-Thon, a chinese man who is Buddhist and has the worst luck with christian, yet loves meeting with us. He has so been prepared by the Lord. Very awesome guy and very open to everything. Then went and visited Bro. Ravi's mother in the hospital. His entire family was having a rough time. We weren't able to do much, but thought it would be nice to go and visit them. Bro. Ravi is still such a champ.
Thursday we met up with Thuan-Lian, a potential who cannot speak in English but Malay from Myanmar. We couldn't teach him though, since he was a refugee so we had to let him go. He carried a picture of Chirst given to him in 2009 by some missionaries. So sad we couldn't talk to him at all. Then ran into another guy wanting to come to church on the train and offered to come on his own. That was easy work!
We went on a suprise trip to Singapore
on Friday!!!1 didn't know about it until
Tuesday, but we went for new missionary training! Saw my father, Elder To'angutu, and met up with the whole group who came in with me!!! Elder Newing is still jacked and super awesome. AND Elder Grant is still Elder Grant.... I miss that guy so much. Hope you got that picture of us wearing Malay clothes! It was a great trip. Came back
Saturday and then two Nigerians came up to us and asked us if they could go to church
on Sunday. We, of course, said yes and they actually came! We have honestly seen miracles here, that never happens here. We never get anyone to come to church in the first place and here there is a bunch wanting to come without a lesson! We ate at Sister Kim's, who lives outside a mosque. Those prayers went on the entire lesson and were SO LOUD. killed the spirit. But it's Ramadan here, and the Malay's are going crazy at night.
All in all, it was a great week. Many miracles have happened and I feel the spirit so strongly here. Love the mission every single day.
Talk to you next week!
