Whatsup y'all?!?!?
I'm in Penang right now!!! About to go to the beach as a zone activity (beach volleyball) in a little bit. Gonna be sweeeeeeet!
So this week we met up with an investigator we contacted into, Elaine and her family who are all super awesome and into American History and reading (sounds like my family). But they are super Catholic and don't want to change. But they invited us over twice now, so something must be happening right?
Elder To'a went to the hospital this weekend and we took care of him, so now our companionship is locked and loaded and hopefully won't get sick anymore!!! We'll need some prayers for him.
Tuesday at district meeting, Elder Ormsby (district leader) called us all out and for us to be obedient. Even though we are, for the most part, we want to go into exact obedience and to start changing into not being lazy and then that night we talked about pride. Made me realize how wrong I am in past decisions and how much pride is a factor in any sin. Changed my view on the mission. This week I've never felt more like a missionary and it is an awesome feeling. It's starting to pick up for us in Ipoh now. The zone leaders came out on splits with us. Elder David came with us, he's another kiwi, and had a great day staying busy and teaching lessons. Such a good missionary.
And I sprained my ankle Friday morning. doesnt feel to good, but its been worse. Saturday we did a sports activity of volleyball and basketball. I feel super close to the members now, especially Locki, who is from Nigeria and taught me a couple words in Hintu. He's such a boss. And John, an investigator came to church yesterday!!! But it's hard to talk to him because he speaks Hindi.
We have so many different languages in our ward. Tamil, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Hintu, English, and Malay. It's crazy the diversity. It's weird seeing white people now that I'm in Penang though. Love it here, Love the mission.
The drivers are insane and came very close to dying on my bike. Not even joking. Roundabouts are suuuuper tricky, almost got sandwiched last week by two cars who almost hit each other with me in between. The Lord is watching over us for sure. Love the members and the people. Hope Denver and the U.S is doing well!
Love y'all!
