Singapore. Babylon. Game on Satan.
So here in the Concrete Jungle, Elder Andrus and I are hard at work...... kind of. So here we cannot do any sort of contacting. nothing at all. So we have been doing a lot of service for members, just going to their home to drop off notes, making food, wishing them a Merry Christmas and such. The members here are AWESOME!!!
So there are at least three families here that have ties to Charlotte, The Deavers are born and raised there, Sister Deaver said she knows the Hanline's, the Gatlines lived at the Matthews Ward for 7 years, and Brother Bray went to East Meck for high school. Southern Pride!
I had the best time skypeing family this week, what an experience! So much fun to the see the fam and Thomas being tall as he is.
So we had a Brazilian Christmas Eve. I am jealous of the Brazil Elders. That food was sooooo good! Had a great Christmas day being with a lot of different families and having actual ham for dinner. Thank you McWiggin family! Tasted like home. Since we are an ex-pat ward, our area book is really small because there aren't really any ways to get potentials without contacting and we don't get too many referrals. So we called everyone in the area book and nothing came of it. Jim, our one investigator is going back to Shanghai so he wont hear the Gospel until he leaves, China laws are even more strict than Singapore, but he says his parents don't want him to learn anymore. So that kind of stunk.
Elder Andrus is really sick as well. He has been for almost 4 months. He had an interview with President Mains the other day about it. We should get some news if he is going home by Tuesday. Please pray for him, I know he wants to stay. I love Elder Andrus so much, he is one of my favorite companions for sure.
Thank you everyone, I hope your Christmas was as spiritual and amazing as mine was! Love being a missionary and love being a servant of the Lord! Love you all, and Happy New Years!!!!! Make this year a year that can change someone else's life. Serve others and do everything out of love, and you will never go wrong.
